When did it suddenly become cool as in, every bitch is trying to pretend that she reads or used to read or even knows what comics are. Like someone out there decided hey lets put in next month’s edition of OhmyVoguemypantsaresoinsanelyexpensive magazine that a girl who partakes in science fiction and comic books is the girl every man out there wants to marry/
And why do I always end up with guys who have no idea who Hal Jordan is…or even worse has no idea who Stan Lee is… or, and it gets more horrific with each guy I dated believe me, doesn’t know which comic hero belongs to which universe (in my mind that’s the difference between Marvel and DC comics).
You know what. I blame movies for this… Fans out there, you know what I’m tlking about. Like when spiderman first came out. I freaking went to the screening with my Mom and sisters…. cos I was that excited and freak! I cried. I dreamt spidey dreams for the next 2 weeks… I was Spiderman and it was awesome.
And then a few days back some bitch says.. well the new spiderman is much cuter than Tobey… Excuse yourself bitch!! Sam Raimi did a damn good job and I still watch the first, second and sometimes if I’m feeling a bit bored the third one. (come on its always on HBO or Star Movies or whichever cable network u watch)
But damn it, ever since people like Hugh Jackman or Jkmen or whatever his name is got involved, its been a downward spiral into the depths of hell. And a few days back I was talking to my cousin and he asked me which super hero would I like to be and it was Cassandra Cain aka Batgirl and he said “why would you want to be Batman’s side kick.” To say I was outraged is the understatement of the century.
